With both city and country experience Irma DeVries is equipped to serve the residents of the Perth Wellington riding.
Irma is married to John DeVries for 26 years. Together they've raised 4 children. They were Foster parents for 5 years. As a partner on a successful small diary farm for 25 years, Irma knows the issues farmers face.
Irma lived in the cities of Edmonton, Montreal and Mississauga before moving to Harriston in 1979 to farm.
Issues dear to Irma's heart are family related, encompassing education, social policy, taxation and immigration.
She has been a member of the Palmerston Christian Reformed Church and has served as a Sunday School and Vacation Bible School teacher and as a Coffee Break Bible Study leader for almost 20 years.
She served on promotion and fund-raising committees of an independent Christian school.
Irma currently serves on the board of the Listowel and District Right to Life.
Irma says, "I look forward to serving the people of Perth-Wellington riding. Governments can't save the economy and culture from moral decadence but biblical principles can. Let's restore the biblical principles that made this country great in the past, to have an influence today.
