∑ A graduate of Carleton University with a Masterís degree in psychology
∑ Has worked at the Royal Ottawa Hospital for more than 20 years and is President of Local 479 of the Ontario Public Service Employees Union
∑ Has taught at St. Paul University and is a frequent speaker at activist events
∑ A community advocate for mental health services, organized a campaign against cuts to these services in Ottawa and is currently leading the campaign to stop the P3 (privatization) of the ROH redevelopment
∑ A member of a national P3 committee of labour and health coalitions and works closely with the Ontario Health Coalition in opposing health care privatization and calling for the implementation of the Romanow report
∑ A life-long resident of Ottawa West-Nepean and a recent provincial candidate
∑ Lives in Britannia with her husband and three children.
