Michael Murphy, a resident of Ottawa Centre for ten years, started a legal/business consulting practice in May 2003 after completing a year of graduate studies in business (MBA) in French at the University of Ottawa.
From 1998 to 2002, Mike was General Manager of Calabogie Peaks, one hour west of Ottawa. Under his leadership, the resort experienced its strongest years of operations since being established in 1970. During that time skier visits increased by 200% from the previous high and costs decreased by 20%.
Prior to joining Calabogie, Mr. Murphy was a lawyer in public and private practice in Ontario and in New Brunswick. He is a graduate of McGill University in Montreal and obtained his law degree in French at the Université de Moncton. He clerked at the Federal Court of Appeal and was a lawyer with the Department of Justice in Ottawa. Mr. Murphy is a member of the law societies of Ontario and New Brunswick.
Mike is an active volunteer in Ottawa Centre with the Mission and the Salvation Army.
He is also a member of the Advisory Board (Recreation) of Algonquin College and a past President of the Ottawa Tennis and Lawn Bowling Club.
Graduate of McGill University and obtained Law Degree at the Université de Moncton .
