Rick Byers is the Conservative Party of Canada (CPC) candidate in the Ontario riding of Oakville.
A long-time political activist, Rick became a Policy Assistant in 1987 to Michael Wilson, federal Finance Minister. While working in Ottawa he got his Masters of Business Administration part-time through the University of Ottawa, graduating in 1991.
Prior to joining the Minister, Rick held a Bachelor of Commerce Degree from the University of Toronto and worked as a Chartered Accountant with Thorne Riddell (now KPMG).
He moved to Oakville in 1991 with his wife Margot and their oldest son Adrian where he joined Burns Fry (now BMO Nesbitt Burns) in its investment banking group. His family has since grown to three with the arrival of sons Peter and Cameron.
In his political career Rick was the candidate for Oakville in the 2000 election and was on the executive of the Progressive Conservative Association of Oakville from 1992-2000. He was Association President from 1995 to 2000.
