Ontario, Nipissing - Timiskaming, Conservative Party of Canada

Al McDonald is the Conservative Party of Canada (CPC) candidate in the Ontario riding of Nipissing-Timiskaming.

The former Member of the Provincial Parliament for Nipissing, Al served as Parliamentary Assistant to the Minister of Enterprise, Innovation and Opportunity.

He is a resident of Corbeil, where he makes his home with partner Wendy.

Al has worked in the community as a volunteer and philanthropist. He has served as President of the Chamber of Commerce and the Humane Society. He chaired the North Bay Heritage Festival, and spearheaded the grassroots movement to keep the North Bay OHL Hockey Club.

Al served as Deputy Mayor of North Bay before he was successful in a by-election and chosen to be the MLA for the riding.

He is also a member of the local Kiwanis Club and supports local charities like the Gathering Place, an area soup kitchen.

As an MLA he was able to support initiatives which led to the Northern Ontario Tax Incentive Zone, the new Northern Ontario Medical School, Free tuition for Northern Nurses and Doctors and the Children’s Treatment Centre.
