Dean Allison was raised in London, Ontario. He holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Economics from Wilfrid Laurier University. After graduation he began working at The TDL Group Ltd., which operates the Tim Hortons chain of coffee and baked goods. This is where he met his wife, Michele. Shortly thereafter, Dean became a Wendy’s Restaurants of Canada franchisee. As a young entrepreneur, he now owns three Wendy’s throughout the Niagara Region. Dean’s dedication to youth includes investing thousands of dollars in scholarships for his staff to continue their education past high school.
Dean and Michele have three children, Aaron, Elizabeth and Andrew. Dean presently serves as President of the West Lincoln Memorial Hospital Foundation, which is nearing its $12.5 million fundraising goal to build a new hospital. He also serves as President-Elect of the Lincoln Chamber of Commerce. Dean is a founding board member of the Dave Thomas Adoption Foundation in Canada, and serves on the Board of Directors of the Ontario Trillium Foundation.
Dean and Michele have been greatly involved in a project that brings dozens of children to Canada each summer from Belarus. These children have been exposed to radiation from the Chernobyl disaster, and need the sunshine and nutrition that homes in Canada can provide to them. This will be the third summer that Dean and Michele welcome 10 year old Dzmitry in their home. They have also visited his home in Belarus.
