Michael Menear has an established law practice in London under the name Menear & Associates (formerly Haskett, Menear Associates), which has a complement of lawyers covering the full range of general practice. Civil Litigation (Family, Estate, Contract, and Negligence) has been Michaelís field of concentration.
Michael attended Huron College, University of Western Ontario, during his undergraduate years, which included a program of studies in Honours Economics and Philosophy. After completing his degree in law at the University of Ottawa and practising law in a rural community (Cobourg, Ontario).
He attained his Specialist Certification in Family Law from the Law Society of Upper Canada many years ago. Michaelís involvement in community organizations has included community health care, hospital restructuring, charitable trusts, fundraising endeavours, sport associations, and support for the arts.
Michael and Debra, his wife of 20 years, chose to live, work and establish a family in London, Ontario. They have been residents and active participants in the community life of London since 1986. They have four children, Christopher - age 18; Elizabeth - age 17; Trevor - age 14; and David - age 12.
Seeking the Nomination as a Candidate of the Conservative Party of Canada for the Electoral District of London West is Michaelís first foray into governmental politics. He has a strong conviction that the success of the new party is essential to the improvement of democracy in Canada. Michael believes ordinary Canadians need more policy choices on financial, social, and other important issues.
In addition, he is committed to bringing to government the same good governance policies and practises that he has learned from the operation of his small business and from his organizational involvements. He believes that a principled conservative approach to national political issues can be developed by the new party and articulated in a persuasive manner to all Canadians.
