· Honoured in 1999 as Wilfred Laurier University’s Outstanding Teacher

· As a scholar, contributed to fields of community psychology, feminist psychology and the history and theory of psychology

· Served for many years on the Employment Equity Committee of the University-Faculty Association

· Previously worked for 10 years as a clinical psychologist, primarily in child and family services at the Kitchener-Waterloo Health Centre

· Has promoted the prevention of violence against women, strengthening children’s social-emotional development using drama, supporting community services for psychiatric consumer/survivors, researching and providing public education about the ethics of mental health professionals and the clergy

· Has acted in and directed numerous productions with community theatres, universities and churches

· Received the 2003 Best Out-Of-Festival Action Award from the Western Ontario Drama League

· Lives with his wife Hilary in Glen Allan; they have four grown children and two granddaughters.
