He also was the winner of the Young Investigator Award, the American Society for Transplantation in 2003.
Thomas’ career in medical research was set in motion when his mother was diagnosed with cancer. Together with his sister Christine, who is also in the field of medical and science research, the young pair started doing research into the disease and both progressed into the medical profession. Christine roller-bladed across Canada in 1996 and raised $150,000.00 for cancer research.
Today their mother is still alive and very proud her children are working in areas, which benefit other people.
Thomas brings to his career in public service the same dedication of service to the community and its citizens.
