Greg Martin was born and raised in Brantford, Ontario.
Greg graduated from Seneca College (Newman Campus), Toronto, Ontario, in 1981, with a Diploma in Aviation and Flight Technology (Deanís Honour List).
He obtained his Flight Instructorís rating in summer of 1981.
Greg has worked for various employers including: Chatham Airport, Brantford Airport, Sharp Bus Lines, Brantford Naval Veteransí Association, and Copeland Refrigeration.
Greg is presently working as a firefighter with the City of Toronto Fire Services, where he is a qualified Captain with over 18 years experience.
He is also presently employed as a City Councillor for the City of Brantford (2nd term in office, 4th year).
Greg has been active within the local Reform/ Canadian Alliance Riding Association since 1993, serving 1-year terms as President in 1995 and past Vice-President in 1996.
He has assisted in canvassing with past candidates, as well as assisting with by-elections in the ridings of Etobicoke North and Hamilton in 1995. Additionally, Greg has been active on the campaigns of provincial Conservatives in the last three provincial elections.
Greg is married, with two children. His hobbies include flying, woodworking, traveling, camping and canoeing.
