General:

Native of Port Dover - from a commercial fishing family.

1965 Barra married John. They have two grown-up childrenand have two precious grandchildren. She worked as a fisheries biologist at the University of Guelph and now helps part-time in putting together distance education courses. They live a simple life, serve the Catholic renewal, and uphold Judeo-Christian values that made Ontario families and the Ontario economy strong. They join with all people, all creeds, of good will, to preserve the traditional family that is under attack. Our common need is for a government where public and hidden policy does not undermine the needs of mother, father and children. As a Christian Heritage Party candidate, she has an opportunity to give the community a clear alternative to vote with its conscience for life, and for the protection of its families.

"I am very much for upholding the needs of the family in public life. Families are our primary social safety net in times of trouble and hurt. That is where the real education of children takes place and values are transmitted to sustain our future. That is where life is."
