Massimo Pacetti was born in Montreal in 1962. He has a diploma from the Quebec order of licensed general accountants, a Bachelor of Commerce degree from Concordia University, and a diploma in accounting from McGill University.
Mr. Pacetti was first elected to the House of Commons for the riding of Saint-Léonard—Saint-Michel in May 2002, following a by-election. He is currently a member of the Standing Committee on Finance and Chair of the Liberal Economic Development Caucus. He was also a member of the Standing Committee on Official Languages in 2002, of the Standing Committee on Citizenship and Immigration, and of the Standing Committee on Government Operations and Estimates in 2003.
Before going into public life, Mr. Pacetti headed up his own accounting firm since 1993. Before 1993, he was an auditor with two prestigious auditing offices. He is also an investor and entrepreneur working with various other businesses.
One of Mr. Pacetti’s objectives is to help young people. He is a minor league hockey coach, was elected as a trustee to the Pointe-de-l’Île school board and is a member of the Montreal Irish Rugby Club.
He is married to Danielle Maclean and they have two children. The family lives in the riding of Saint-Léonard—Saint-Michel.
