Joseph Khoury, who holds a degree in oriental studies (letters) from the universities of Beirut and Lyon, is an international businessman who works in the export sector and develops business strategies and international marketing plans.
He is the President of NANO MED inc. and is a director and owner of J.F.K. Int. Mr. Khoury works on various projects, either in the high-tech medical field of nanotechnology or relating to exports and international cooperation. As part of his many activities, he has negotiated with a number of foreign states, including Russia, Australia, Belgium, France and Lebanon. He has also worked on various development projects in several countries in Africa and the Persian Gulf region.
Mr. Khoury has also written many reports and studies on topics of interest. He is a member of the United Nations Association in Canada and an honorary member of the Canadian Association of Veterans in United Nations Peacekeeping, and has been awarded the Commemorative Medal for the Golden Jubilee of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.
At the community level, Joseph Khoury was the Chairman of the Québec Cerebral Palsy Association and the honorary Chairman of the cerebral palsy telethon for the Upper Richelieu region.
Mr. Khoury is a very well-known political figure. He ran for the federal Liberal Party in the St-Jean riding in 2000, and received 36 percent of the votes from his constituents. He was also the president of the federal Liberal association in the St-Jean riding in 2002.
Mr. Khoury joined the new Conservative Party several months ago.
