A citizen of the riding of Rivière-des-Mille-Îles, Yolaine Savignac has contributed actively to the educational, community, union, political and professional life of the region for more than 15 years.
She is a graduate in education and taught for the Seigneurie-des-Mille-Îles school board from 1987 to 1998. During that time she served as a school trustee in Saint-Eustache, as a union representative, and a member on various boards. Ms. Savignac’s social involvement focuses on defending the interests of young people and women, as well as promoting education and peace. This experience has served to confirm her view that the prime purpose of social action is to serve as an agent for change.
From 1995 to 1997, Ms. Savignac completed a Master’s degree in international management at the École nationale d’administration publique and became a member of the assembly of governors and the study board at the University of Quebec.
Since 1998, she has worked with a general management team at the INRS (National Institute for Scientific Research) as director of institutional and governmental relations, and is involved in implementing major projects such as the Cité de la Biotech in Laval.
She is a member of the board of the Laval Chamber of Commerce and Industry and vice-chair of the board of the Festival de Trois. From 1999 to 2004, she also served as an administrative judge on the Sainte-Thérese Employment Insurance Commission.
