Born in Saint-Sylvère on May 19, 1958, Ghislaine Provencher has always lived in the same municipality. For more than 25 years, she has operated the Ferme Probec, a dairy and grain company. Her son Kevin, 19 years of age, works as her assistant and is preparing to take over the company.
At the same time, Ms. Provencher is active in various business circles. She is president and owner of the Groupe Labonté Provencher specializing in damage insurance, and Le Groupe Provencher, specializing in insurance for individuals and investments. Ms. Provencher’s daughter Veronique, 22 years of age, works alongside her in this field.
In the past, Ms. Provencher has worked as a volunteer with organizations in her community. She was president of the board of the Caisse populaire de Saint-Sylvère from 1991-1996, and founding president of the Saint-Sylvère Optimist Club from 1987-1990.
Ms. Provencher has a certificate in administration from the University of Quebec at Trois-Rivières and is also certified by the Financial Services Bureau in the area of financial planning.
