Born in Matane 33 years ago, Marc Bélanger is a lawyer specializing in international tax law. He graduated in civil law from the University of Ottawa, is a member of the Quebec Bar, has a Master’s degree in International and European Law from the University of Toulouse in France, as well as a Master’s degree in Taxation from the University of Sherbrooke.
Mr. Bélanger is currently working with Raymond Chabot Grant Thornton Chartered Accountants.
In addition to being involved in his community, he teaches US tax law at the École des Hautes Études Commerciales (HEC) in Montréal. He also teaches at the University of Sherbrooke in the Master’s program in taxation. He is the co-author of Faire affaires aux Etats-Unis (Doing Business in the United States), published by the Quebec branch of the CGA.
Defeated by 276 votes at the last election, Mr. Bélanger is convinced that he can do more to help his region once he is elected. He has decided to run once again in the riding of Matapédia-Matane. He firmly intends to offer his knowledge and experience to various committees within the government.
Mr. Bélanger is married to Geneviève Beauchesne and is the father of two children.
