Christian Jobin was elected to Parliament on June 16, 2003. Married and the father of five children, Mr. Jobin is a certified general accountant (CGA). He completed his studies in accountancy at Laval University in 1977 and obtained his qualification as a CGA in 1978. He has more than 30 years experience in management and 14 years working for the community.
Mr. Jobin was active in the municipal world for 14 years, particularly as a municipal councillor (1989-1993), Mayor of Saint-Étienne de Lauzon (1993-2001), and leader of the municipal party Vision Rive-Sud de Québec.
With a consistent concern to efficiently manage the money of taxpayers in Saint-Étienne-de-Lauzon and with particular attention to the situation of seniors and young people, Mr. Jobin initiated and headed up a large number of projects with his colleagues.
Very involved in the community of Saint-Étienne-de-Lauzon, Mr. Jobin is a founding member of the Corporation Résidence Saint-Étienne-de-Lauzon (a residence for seniors) and, in 1986, was a founding member of the Lions Club of Saint-Étienne-de-Lauzon. Since 1999 he has been patron of honour and a member of the board of the Fondation des services universitaires in Chaudière-Appalaches.
