Pratte, Jean-Paul

Quebec, Laval - Les Îles, Conservative Party of Canada

Jean-Paul Pratte was born in 1960. He has been married since 1980 and has two children.

He grew up and still lives in Laval. He is a computer specialist and a career entrepreneur. He has been in business since he was 20 years old.

He studied Computer Science and Computerized Systems in college at Montréal. He then went on to study computerized management systems at UQAM.

For the past several years, he has been working at Hydro Québec, where he manages technological and infrastructure projects. He was involved in setting up Hydro-Québec’s trading floor and is in charge of Hydro-Québec’s only business office in the United States.

While Mr. Pratte was working abroad, he has had the opportunity to be involved in and set up humanitarian missions. As he has lived abroad, Jean-Paul speaks four languages.

He was also involved in the Junior Achievement program, whose aim is to teach high school students about the business world by having them set up their own business.

In his spare time, Jean-Paul enjoys community and family activities. To stay fit, he is a marathon and long-distance runner.

In my view, an MP’s work can be summed up in three words: integrity, altruism and prosperity. This means advancing projects and issues in a positive manner for the benefit of the community as a whole. This is what I have been doing since my youth.
