Francis Scarpaleggia has a Bachelor’s degree from McGill University and a Master’s degree in economics from Columbia. He subsequently obtained a diploma in administration from McGill University and an MBA from Concordia University.
After following a one-year training program with Petro-Canada, Mr. Scarpaleggia began his career with Comterm as chief of corporate development and assistant to the president. In 1988, he joined Bristol-Myers Squibb as a financial analyst. Between 1990 and 1991 he had his own company and was awarded two major contracts as a business development consultant. In 1991, he was offered a position teaching administration at Dawson College.
When at university, Mr. Scarpaleggia became actively involved in provincial politics with the Mont-Royal Liberal Association where he held a number of positions, such as chief of election organization and fundraising activities, treasurer and association president. In 1985, he decided to become involved in federal politics.
His commitment to the riding of Lac-Saint-Louis goes back to the 1993 election when he was appointed official agent for the Liberal candidate. Since that time, Mr. Scarpaleggia has served as parliamentary assistant to Clifford Lincoln.
His considerable experience as a parliamentary assistant and his profound knowledge of the riding of Lac-Saint-Louis make Mr. Scarpaleggia the most dedicated candidate and the one best able to serve the people of this constituency.
