Richard, Lucien

Quebec, Chambly - Borduas, Conservative Party of Canada

Lucien Richard, who is 56 years old, is a father of two and also has a four-year-old granddaughter. He has been making things happen on the social and cultural scene for many years, be it in the business world or in national and municipal politics. He has chosen to adopt the Conservative platform today and to put his skills to use in serving the people in the Chambly-Borduas riding.

After completing his studies in administration, Lucien Richard managed several artists, including Les Cyniques, Hugues Aufray and Serge Reggiani, whose first tour of Québec was organized by Mr. Richard. He was also a founding member of the Fondation Félix-Leclerc.

Lucien Richard joined the Progressive Conservative Party in 1983. He piloted many projects, including the party’s national convention in 1986 held at the Palais des Congrès in Montréal and attended by over 4,700 participants. He also coordinated the Québec City francophone summit and the Commonwealth summit in 1987 as logistics manager.

In 1995, Mr. Richard was named Vice President and General Manager of Thémax Inc. and General Manager of Cinémax Québec Inc., and oversaw the implementation of the IMAX theatres in Québec City and Brossard. For the past three years, he has been the Vice President in charge of development for Octant Multiscènes, one of the largest producers of shows and television programs in Québec. He is a volunteer manager of Théâtre Rive Gauche Inc., an organization which plans to build a major international theatre on Montréal’s South Shore.
