Violette, Benoit

Ben Violette was born in Grand-Falls, NB in March 1970. Shortly after his birth, Benoit’s parents Camille and Charlotte, moved from St. Leonard to Edmundston, where his father pursued his career as a Federal Public Servant.

Benoit obtained his bachelor degree in Political Science in 1994 from l’Universite Laval in Quebec City, after graduating from the Cité des Jeunes High School in Edmundston.

During the 1988 and 1993 Federal election, Benoit started his political involvement with the then PC Party candidate in the riding of Madawaska-Victoria as a youth volunteer. During the provincial election of 1995, he was co-campaign manager in Edmundston for the then Provincial PC Party Leader, Bernard Valcourt.

In 1999-2000, Benoit worked as Parliamentary Assistant to MP Jean Dubé. In 2003, he was involved in the ratification. Ben formerly lived in Ottawa where he acted as Director of Regional Affairs for Quebec and the Atlantic Provinces for Canada’s Research-Based Pharmaceutical companies.
