During the next four years as a Member of the Legislative Assembly, he served as Chairman of the powerful Human Resources Committee and also of the Fire Safety Legislation Committee. He was also a Member of the Public Accounts Committee, Resource Committee, and Economic Committee. During his four-year term as MLA, Jon demonstrated his ability to get things done. Jon's involvement in community affairs is exemplary. He was a Member of the Aylesford and District Fire Department and served as Chief of that Department for 21 years.
