Known as very intuitive, reflective and a thinker, Dale Stevens is not a stranger to the spotlight. In university, he played for five seasons with the Saint Mary’s Huskies varsity basketball team. In 1992, he helped lead Saint Mary’s to an Atlantic University Athletic Championship over rival Acadia.
Dale entered the workforce in the fall of 1992, spending seven months with the Accommodations Branch of Public Works Canada.
In April of 1993, he began a career in sales at STD Technology where he sold personal computers to a dealer network throughout Atlantic Canada.
Starting in 1995, Mr. Stevens spent the next six and a half years as a key account representative for numerous local retail businesses, as well as the offshore oil and computer industry.
It was in 2001 that he recognized an opportunity to make a change in his community. He took over the position of Executive Director of the Eastern Shore Community Centre and saved the centre from bankruptcy.
He then turned his focus on politics. He understands the need for a federal government plan to invest in infrastructure in the constituency and wants to take the lead role in increasing economic development in the area.
Born in Musquodoboit Harbour, Mr. Stevens is 34 years old and is a married father of two.
