Sheila Richardson, 54, is the Green Party Candidate for North Nova, NS. Sheila has been a Therapist Counsellor in New Glasgow, Halifax and Annapolis Valley, NS for the last 15 years. Sheila is also self-employed as an Adult Educator and facilitates various workshops in the areas of life skills, parenting, child health and welfare as well as stress management. From 2001 to 2002, Sheila worked as an Attendant with the Services Support Group of Dartmouth, NS. She also worked as a Mediator as well as a Custody/Access Assessor with the Family Court of Nova Scotia from 1987 to 2002. Sheila was a Pre-School Playgroup Co-ordinator in New Glasgow, NS and Oxford, England from 1980 to 1990. Additionally, she was an elementary and high school teacher in Ireland and England from 1971 to 1980. Sheila has been a Member of the Board, Heritage Hill Learning Centre, Wolfville, NS for six years. Sheila holds a Master's degree in Community Development, Women's Education and Counselling from Dalhousie University, Halifax, NS, and a Bachelor's degree in Science from New University of Ulster, Northern Ireland. Additionally, Sheila holds certifications in Mediation from Maritime School of Social Work, Halifax, NS and Psychosynthesis Counselling from Pathways of Montreal. In her spare time, Sheila enjoys reading, swimming, walking, music, dancing, quilting and gardening.
