Born in Gambo in 1964, Peg Norman left in 1982

Worked in health field for 18 years in hospitals, a childrenís rehab centre, nursing homes, and womenís shelters in Toronto, Labrador and St. Johnís

Resettled in St. Johnís in 1989 with her young son, Ian

Managed the Morgentaler Clinic for 10 years, and was instrumental in negotiating full government funding for the clinic, providing safe, legal abortion services for the women of our province

Went on to develop a small tourist operation in the province and makes films with her partner Gerry Rogers. Her last film, ďMy Left Breast,Ē was about Gerryís struggle with breast cancer, winning several international awards

An active social activist all her life, serving on boards and committees, including the St. Johnís Rape Crisis Centre, St. Johnís Status of Women Council, and the Baccalieu Trail Tourism Association

An employee, employer, shop steward, manager and a businessperson
