Justin Dollimont, 26, is the Green Party of Canada candidate for Random-Burin-St. George's.
Justin holds a Bachelor of Sciences degree (Honours) in Environmental Science from Acadia University, in Halifax, NS. He also holds an Advanced Diploma in Marine Geomatics from the Centre of Geographic Sciences in Lawrencetown, NS.
Justin spent 2 months with Canada World Youth and the Conservation Corps of Newfoundland and Labrador, where he worked in Costa Rica with a community-based environmental group acting to preserve the watershed of rivers that flowed into the surrounding communities. Justin continued this program in St. Johnís, NL as a leader of a local Green Team that worked to maintain and promote local diversity and green spaces, as well as promoting environmental awareness with local community groups.
Justin was also employed with an Environmental Consulting Firm in Mount Pearl, NL where he was responsible for helping complete environmental assessments, site remediation work, environmental monitoring, and environmental report writing. He has also worked in the Gulf of Mexico for an international offshore survey company performing hydrographic and geophysical surveys related to the development of oil and gas projects. However, the nature and purpose of the work did not fit with his values of conservation and sustainability.
Additionally, Justin has worked with the Conservation Corps of Newfoundland and Labrador, and Acadia University Development Association for the development of a monitoring plan at a University field station.
Justin enjoys mountain biking and international travel.
